Structured AI Automation
for Financial Firms

We help small financial firms — wealth managers, boutique asset managers, and advisory practices — reduce manual work in reporting, documentation, and operations. Secure. Controlled. Human-approved.

No commitment — 20-minute conversation, no sales pitch

The Challenge

Financial teams lose hours every week to work AI can handle

Small financial firms run lean. Every hour spent formatting reports, rebuilding compliance documents, or searching scattered files is an hour not spent on clients or decisions. AI can change this — if implemented with proper controls.

Discuss your workflows

Manual reporting cycles

Monthly reports assembled by hand — formatting, copy-pasting, and checking figures across spreadsheets.

Repetitive compliance documentation

Standard client letters, meeting minutes, and regulatory templates rebuilt from scratch every time.

Knowledge buried in files

Procedures, client context, and institutional knowledge scattered across drives, emails, and people's heads.

AI adopted without governance

Staff using consumer AI tools informally — no data oversight, no audit trail, no documented approval chain.

Our Approach

Practical automation — built around your workflows

We design AI automation that fits your existing processes. No black boxes. No overpromised outcomes. Structured workflows that reduce repetitive work while keeping humans in control.

What we build

  • Automated report generation from structured data
  • AI-assisted compliance document drafting
  • Internal knowledge bases with Q&A interfaces
  • Workflow integrations (Excel, SharePoint, email)
  • Controlled AI deployments with audit trails
  • Staff-ready interfaces with human approval gates

What we don't do

  • Investment advice or trading automation
  • Fully autonomous AI without human checkpoints
  • Systems that remove client sign-off requirements
  • Uncontrolled data uploads to third-party AI services
  • Promises of FINMA compliance without legal review
  • Off-the-shelf software sold to everyone
How It Works

From first call to live automation

A structured three-phase engagement — starting with a no-commitment audit to ensure we're solving the right problem.

1–2 weeks

AI Workflow Audit

We map your current workflows, identify the highest-value automation opportunities, and define scope and risk. You receive a written audit report — regardless of whether you proceed.

4–12 weeks

Build & Implement

We design and build the automation together — integrating your existing tools, setting up approval workflows, and training your team. You stay in control throughout.

Ongoing / Optional

Monitor & Optimise

Optional ongoing support: performance monitoring, adjustments as your needs evolve, and expanding automation scope as confidence grows.

Data & Governance

Control, transparency, and human oversight — by design

Automation in finance requires more than efficiency. It requires clear data governance, audit trails, and defined human approval steps.

Controlled data handling

Data processing is defined per project. We do not connect client data to third-party AI services without your explicit agreement on the architecture.

Human in the loop

Every system includes human review checkpoints. AI generates — your team approves. No document leaves the workflow without a human sign-off step.

Audit trail & accountability

Automated workflows include logging and version control. Every output can be traced back to its inputs and the person who approved it.

About

Built by someone who has worked inside financial operations

rost ai is a solo consulting practice. I work directly with every client — no account managers, no outsourced delivery teams.

My background includes working in a UBS environment on the Credit Suisse client migration and finance/accounting AI integration projects. I hold an economics background from HSG (University of St. Gallen). I understand what financial operations look like on the inside — and what AI can and cannot do in that context.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this suitable for a firm with fewer than 10 employees?
Yes — small teams often benefit most from automation because each hour saved has an outsized impact. I work with firms as small as 5 people. The scope is adjusted to what makes sense for your team size and budget.
Do you guarantee FINMA compliance?
No. I help implement workflows aligned with your existing compliance requirements, but regulatory compliance is your responsibility and your legal counsel's. I will flag regulatory touchpoints and design systems with human approval gates — but I do not provide legal or compliance advice.
Where does my data go? Can I keep everything on-premises?
Data architecture is defined per project. On-premises, private cloud, and hybrid options are all available. I do not connect client data to third-party AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) without your explicit understanding and approval of where the data is processed.
What exactly is the AI Workflow Audit?
The Audit is a structured 1–2 week engagement. We map 3–5 of your current workflows, identify automation opportunities, assess risk and technical requirements, and produce a written report with prioritised recommendations. You can use the report independently — whether or not we work together on implementation.
What tools and integrations do you work with?
Most engagements involve Microsoft 365 environments (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook), PDF generation workflows, and structured data pipelines. I build around what you already use — no requirement to change your tech stack.
How much does it cost? What are typical timelines?
The AI Workflow Audit starts at CHF 2,000–4,000 depending on scope. Implementation projects typically range from CHF 8,000–30,000 depending on complexity. I work on a project-fee basis — no hourly billing surprises. A 20-minute intro call will give you a realistic estimate.
Who will I actually be working with?
Directly with me — Vincent Rost. This is a solo practice. There are no account managers or delivery subcontractors. You have direct access throughout the entire engagement.
